The Lirot Association was founded in 2006 with one goal – to prevent blindness, at two key intersections:
At the onset of a disease, which can easily progress to vision loss; or in any healthy, sighted person.

80% of blindness in the population is preventable, and this is where the Lirot Association comes into play, by promoting research, creating and making new, up-to-date and reliable knowledge available, raising awareness,
especially among at-risk populations, such as children and seniors, promoting innovation and influencing policy and policymakers,
while maintaining the values ​​of: responsibility, practicality, excellence, transparency and commitment to social contribution and making a difference.

The association's members include heads of ophthalmology departments, senior physicians, company CEOs, academics and patients, each of whom contributes in their own field to achieving the association's goals.
Thanks to them, the association was chosen to be an advisory body to the Ministry of Health on eye health, medications and new technologies.
